Yukon Digital Night Vision Ranger
The Digital Ranger 5x42 is the next generation of night vision. The innovative approach that customers have come to expect from Yukon is evident in the Ranger's revolutionary digital night vision capabilities. The Ranger has the highest magnification available, and the clearest image, that you just can't get with traditional night vision. With the best edge-to-edge resolution on the market, the Ranger rivals the effectiveness of comparable Gen 2 and Gen 3 night vision devices at any range. The Stealth invisible IR illuminator ensures that the beam is invisible to watchful eyes at any range. What is most amazing about this device is that, unlike ordinary night vision, the Ranger can be used for daytime, as well as nighttime, operation without damaging the device. The Ranger is designed to be the most versatile unit available, with a durable, compact body and unique innovations including a direct video output for video recording or remote viewing.

    Well, with the Pulsar brand on sale now the Ranger is really getting obsolete. Pulsar is a new brand also manufactured by Yukon Optics. The Pulsar Recon: [@]features the same image quality and strong body construction but is much, much more compact and lightweight. It costs a bit more, but its pros are worth it.

          High quality and works very well. Was surprised how far I could see in the total dark. These are the only night vision opticals that I have looked through and I imagine there are better ones for a lot more money. For what these cost they do everything that I need. Very happy with this purchase (good Meijer price [...]).

          This is a great unit for the price. once you learn how to focus and control the display intensity proficiently it is quick get into action. The illuminator is one of the better ones that I have seen. I haven't used it hunting yet but I see it in the near future.

          I use this night vision scope in lieu of a telescope for observing stars and star clusters. It is cheaper and lighter than a telescope that would produce similar results. The video output will record the output to disk easier and cheaper than what it would take using a telescope/computer/other gear and will do it in real time.

              Excellent viewing at night. I'm glad I bought it and I'd recommend it. The video out line is handy for recording what you discover in the night.

              Issues I have with it are battery consumption and I'd rather see this model with a variable zoom.
