    I did a lot of research for customer write-ins on many websites BEFORE I decided to purchase the Winegard SS-3300. I wanted to read about other fellow NYC residents and their experiences with this antenna (the few I stumbled upon were all favorable, thank you all for sharing your opinions) as well as other antennas (Winegard WON out over the others).

    Antenna performance is very regional; in my case I'm in a low-rise bldg. (Corona, Queens NY) about 8-10 miles from the Manhattan transmitters. This antenna is hooked up to a new 23" Samsung LCD and the reception is phenomenal, very crisp, very clear.

    The only local channels that don't come in are: channel 11 WPIX and 13 PBS... they are snowy but I'm not about to play around with the antenna positioning because all the other channels 2 - 64 come in very clearly.

    One minor issue I had with the assembly is that the pre-tooled holes on the antenna did NOT line up with the holes on the base, so I had to shave the mis-aligned hole in order to screw/attach the base onto the antenna.

    All-in-all, I am very pleased with this antenna; granted it's not the most attractive; I wish it were less obtrusive but in the case of an indoor TV antenna, performance was my primary goal (aesthetics was secondary).

          I work at a TV station that switched our DTV from UHF to VHF. We found many indoor antennas were unable to receive the VHS signal. With this indoor antenna I have been able to receive DTV VHS Ch7 when other indoor antennas can not. Outdoor antennas are better if you can install one.
