Product Details
Winegard HD-1080 High Band VHF Outdoor HDTV Antenna
The HD-1080 employs needed technology to "bow-tie" antennas. The vertical screen and stacked "bow-tie" elements provide exceptional gain on UHF DTV channels, but struggle to receive VHF DTV channels. (In 2009, you need both UHF and VHF.) The HD-1080 boosts performance on the VHF high band 2-3 times over competing bow-ties allowing you to receive all HDTV channels after February 2009.

Note: The HD-1080 is not a balanced antenna. It has very strong UHF performance, with mediocre VHF performance. Winegard only rates this antenna for use up to 30 miles because of the limits on VHF reception.

Comments about Winegard HD-1080 High Band VHF Outdoor HDTV Antenna:

We set this up on a pretty short antenna mast on the roof (single story) and had very good results. We're about 25 miles from all the local station antennas so we're getting 4-5 bars on all but one of the stations. Keep in mind this is a very directional antenna, so it MUST be facing the correct way to have good reception.
