The Whynter ARC-14S Dual-Hose Portable Air Conditioner and Heater features the eco-friendly CFC-free GREEN R-410A refrigerant. This unit features the patented advance auto drain technology, which uses and recycles moisture collected during the cooling process to produce cool air, fully exhausting all condensate automatically in most environments. This air conditioner has been running day and night for months now and it's doing a great job at cooling down a large kitchen family room area, we also have one cooling down the basement. It's quiet, effective, easy to use, easy to install, it will come in handy in the winter to help heat the house, it also has a fan and a dehumidifier. I was so impressed with this unit that I came back to meijer.com to buy more. I haven't had to drain it, even with the highest humidity, this machine keeps up with the evaporation. The filters are easy to clean and replace. Comes with everything you need to install, except a Phillips head screw driver. The children think it's a robot.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

the exhaust hoses have to exhaust outside and still shows the appearance of an add on but not as bad as a window unit. the exhaust hoses take up floor space if using in a small room but overall sastified for the price and function of the unit.

I didn't believe an eco friendly refrigerant would cool down my large open kitchen space, but it does. It not super loud either, yes it will make noise, but it won't be unbearable. It is easy to use and the set up was less than ten minutes. You are going to need room for this unit. I think with the unit pulled out from the window properly you will need at least four square feet of space. It has a nice design, the kids think it's a robot. So far it's been running for a week and it's working great.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
