We got a couple of these for the office. Window units are so unsightly. Installation was easy enough that anyone who can read can do it. Cooled two different sized office rooms at approximately the same speed. One was 150sq' and the other was closer to 220sqft. Did an impressive job dropping temperatures within the first 20 mins of use. We can use speakerphones even when the unit is in use, no one has commented on any background noise. Best of all is the price was incredible. Very happy.

I have the unit in a 11*11 bedroom. It is VERY noisy, almost to the point of not being able to sleep. The unit also gets condensation all over the front, where the cool air comes out.
I have another 11000 BTU window shaker that cools MOST of the apartment , but doesn't get to the bedrooms, so I purchased this 12000 BTU a/c.
I must say I figured the unit would be cooler than the 11000 BTU one. IT IS NOT.
It does cool the one bedroom that it is in. But for the cost and the size of the unit, it is NOT worth the purchase price. Had I to do it again , with the knowledge I have gained about the unit, I would DEFINITELY NOT buy this product.

      I've never used a portable unit before, but it's great!!! I'm so glad my brother recommended this. It works way better than a window unit and no unsightly unit hanging out your window or wall. Cools impressively fast and was pretty easy to install for a first timer. very happy and cool.

        I live in an apartment complex that does not have central air conditioning. I have one window unit in the living room and I absolutely hate being hot, so I purchased the portable AC for my bedroom. Now I don't melt at night and can cool my bedroom quickly (as long as the door is closed). I wish it was a little quieter, but it's not horrible enough to send back.

          This air conditioner cools a room very quickly. It has numerous settings that are nice (sleep timer, dehumidifier, temperature control). The unit does not have up/down directional vents, but I did not find this to be an issue. I think for the price it is an excellent 12,000 BTU unit. The exhaust tube is a bit thicker than the drawings I've seen (including in the manual). The only thing I did not like was the window kit. It's just a piece of plastic with a hole in it. I bought air conditioner insulation and put it inside the plastic window kit and taped it in with white duct tape. Otherwise, it's just a thin piece of plastic where you can hear outside noise through it. I also found the extender to be useless on it own because it's narrower than the main piece it extends from resulting in gaps on the sides of the extender (tape & insulation required for this too). Some have complained it is loud in reviews I have read, but I found it neither louder or quieter than the typical air conditioner I have been around. It makes noise, but it doesn't seem excessively loud. Overall, for the price and features, it is a 5.

          Very very cold A/C. Excellent power and cooling capacity. First portable unit I've been impressed with. We put it to use in under 12 mins, which says a lot, given my inclination to read instruction manuals from cover to cover. Runs very quiet except when on high fan speed.real nice A/C.
