Comments about Vinotemp VTHUMIDOR8 Thermoelectric Humidor:

I got one of these for christmas. First, I can say the unit is small and quiet and it looks nice. There are many problems with the unit however. The seal is tight and seems to hold humidity when you use beads, but you have to add your own humidification system (like beads).

Second, the hydrometer, besides being anything for accurate or easily adjustable, may come placed improperly inside the bezel. You can try wiggling a small screwdriver through a hole in the back to get it to look normal, but it may not happen.

Third, the included shelf is not spanish cedar. It should be, but it is some sort of wood that has been gloss coated. Not normal spanish cedar as one would expect.

Forth, the power supply started acting up 6 months into using it, and started running the temp into the 50f range, when it was set for the highest setting, 66f.

Last, despite numerous attempts to contact vinotemp via email, and I emailed every single link on the website, and filled out every form they had on the website and received a grand total of zero responses.

I work in electronics, so I ended up repairing the unit myself. I also made a duplicate shelf of real spanish cedar without the shellac.

Hate to say this, but I cannot recommend.
