      The camera upgrades were necessary after the LAN upgrade because all of the X10 systems (lights, security, intercom, etc.) started having random problems, losing equipment links, etc. After some research, I found that my wireless jukebox, wireless intercom, wireless everything seemed to be operating at the "NEW" 900 Mhz! range. Since this system operates at 2402-2483.5 Mhz, I now have an outstanding day and night picture and sound on the two cameras that came with the system. I plan on adding the two additional cams soon, but I would highly recommend this system for anyone looking for a system that offers the same features, will feed to almost any other device, and absolutely no technical knowledge required for a fraction of the price of the majority of other systems.

      Pro-If you plan to go without the computer usb hookup its a decent product to keep a eye on the kiddos or house pets in the yard.. Cons- the included software is glitchy and unreliable . Had to reinstall the software 3 times , prone to freezing. Instructions leave alot to be desired. If your looking for a security system, I would pass on this one.

      does your site ever work on weekends? for 3 weeks i've had your surveillance cams set up and i haven't been able to view them on weekends(when i need them)

      Bad Software Capabilities

      While the camera system itself is a fair deal for the money, the software voids an pros with the cameras. The software is set up to only record one camera at a time, in 1 hour blocks. And to record 8 hours while you are sleeping, well.. you better have about a 1 terabyte drive to record continuously whether it be video or snapshots because the motion sensing on the software is a serious joke. And it doesn't record audio, just video even if you choose video. And to set up with a DVR? Forget it unless you have a TiVo due to the type of cables/output from the base set. Seriously disappointed and feels like a serious waste of money for nothing more than an overpriced nanny cam system.

      Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

      The cameras are excellent and setup is a breeze, but the software that records is bad. Motion detection is garbage. If I have it set for anything other than one notch above 0, it'll record every shadow and leave blowing in the wind. Where it's at, a person has to be in range of the camera for several seconds before it starts recording. I still find myself looking through several recordings a day and can't determine WHAT moved.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      The box says it is able to go up to 4 cameras. Quite deceiving it will only record one camera at a time. Spend the money on a better product.

      While it seems like a good value the camera images are not that good and frame rate is lower than expected. Night vision is especially poor. The software is clunky and sets off my Microsoft Anti-Virus software every time it's launched. There seems to be no fix for this.

      Good Deal for the $$$

      I was able to get this system up and running very quickly and the receiver and cameras work great, even at night. My only issue is with the software which did not work seamlessly with Windows 7. Apparently you must disable the sleep/hibernate mode or you will get an error msg. Although Uniden does not specifically support the use of a DVR with this system there has apparently been those who have tried this and claim it can be done. Over all a very nice system for the money.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      The only thing I wish is that you could watch on your smart phone, and that you could talk to those you see on the monitor. Other than that, very good for the price range. It took 15 min to set up.

      When we first hooked it up it had to be registered. That failed because the registration numbers provided did not work. I had to contact customer service and get the correct numbers. Then, after an hour of operation, one of the cameras died. What a piece of garbage. If you buy the junk, do not order it online, you will be returning it soon.
