I was skeptical of this working. After getting it and installing the equipment, it worked very well. I have towed my daughter's bike from her elementary school to my work twice now. Easy to connect if you have a stand on your bike. It can take a little bit to orient both bikes otherwise.
The only note would be that the mount on the child bike will damage the paint where mounted. If you are worried about it, I suggest wrapping the steering column with gasket material. It can be had from an auto supply store.

My son and I love this tow bar. He enjoys bike riding that much more now that he can come on longer rides with me. The tow bar is semi easy to install on your bikes, but I have my bar on pretty tight for safety reasons so I need my wrench to get it off anytime we want to ride separately. That is my only complaint though, now my son can enjoy long rides with me pretty comfortable, but still ride solo with his sister and friends.

love this product because my 3 year old can ride her own bike as long as she wants or until she is tired and then I just hook her up to mine and we can keep going I dont have to worry that she wont make it all the way and it puts no limits on the distance or areas that we are able to ride I have not had it long so at this point I personally would not take it on unpaved trails that I have not been on previously but I have taken it on some unpaved trails in the woods and it worked great, made me a little nervous but worked great no problems, I would highly recommend this product to others

The Trail Gator works as described. This product will scratch the paint on the child's bicycle. Take a test ride and keep tools handy for minor adjustments after the test ride. We bought this to improve the confidence of our oldest child who is nervous about riding by herself. I am very happy with our purchase of the Trail Gator. We get compliments and questions about it every time we are out and about.
