I wanted a classic looking no frills watch, and this Timex fit the bill while managing to be fashionable in a retro-hip sort of way. The only down side seems to be the band, which is a little too lightweight and when I had a couple links taken out they dented it. While it could be the watch repairman's fault, my Swiss Army watch links were a heavy stainless steel and seemed to hold up better. Aside from this minor detail, the watch is great!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The band was the only problem with this watch...it was a bit small for my Dad's wrists..but he has large wrists, so maybe it's a normal size.
