more precise than fingertip. I have a protctive screen on my iPod touch. the stylus needs A Lot of pressure to work properly. am not sure if it is easier with an unprotcted screen. stylus allows for quick typing. HOWEVER- right now, I am using my finger.
long story short- with screen protector: pass on it
without: don't know, you'll have to see for yourself.
functional, NOT easy
