This is the 3rd toaster I have bought this year. The first two over-toasted one side and barely showed brown on the other side. This toaster toasts a dark brown on a 3 setting, it cooks a little bit too brown on a 2 setting to suit me, and it gets a nice even light brown on a 1 setting-and both sides are toasted the same amount. I guess it will have to do. All the three toasters I have bought this year were made in [*]I sure wonder what the toast would look like if you set one of these toasters on 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8.Why can't companies make good appliances in the USA these days like they used to? If you buy one of these I suggest you also buy the "return policy" in case you get a toaster that burns the toast on the lowest setting.
