received in excellent time/condition - easy to assemble / twin boys aged 3 loved it and played very constructively. Both bridge and station can move slightly during play and need to be re-sited by an adult. Trees and signs very easily knocked over - a semi sticky base would be useful for these. Bought more trains so that boys didn't fight over the one supplied which was very good and since battery operated we got play instantly. The ones we bought were push along and boys less interested. con - when tightening legs noticed the plastic going white along the creases - suspect this indicates a weak spot but certainly good value for money.

I ordered this for my 21 month old boy/girl twins for Christmas. I think it's something that can grow with them, they can both play with it at the same time, and I love the fact that it comes with a table top to use for crafts. They haven't showed too much interest in playing with it correctly yet. So far they like picking up all the trees and train signs it comes with, pulling out the train station and bridge, or throwing other toys on the tracks that don't belong. But I really think in the next few months they will start to grow into it.Overall I like the concept of having a train table, and this one came at a great price. But some of the cons I noticed so far are it's not very elaborate. Just a simple track that goes around the table. The train station and bridge don't stay in place very well, and some of the pieces seem a little flimsy. I think this serves the purpose that I got it for, and was worth the [$] I spent on it. But if price wasn't an issue, and my kids were a little older and really into trains, I'd probably look into something a little more extensive and elaborate.

Comments about Step2 Action Train Table with Lid:
This is a great little table. Reasonable and really well made. My son is 1.5 and he plays with it very well already. Great for creative play- turn on some music and turn off the TV! (or play while daddy watches sports- haha) He loves driving his Thomas trains, wooden trains, and his cars in it. We will prob use the top for arts and crafts more in the future. I need to get him a little chair! The top is not fancy- plane white but it is sturdy and does the trick! I have not tried but you may be able to use dry erase markers w it- can't remember:) I think he will love this even more as he gets a little taller and can reach the back since I have it pushed against the wall.

Great product, at a a great price. Took only 15 minutes to put together. The lid and plastic pieces fit perfectly, and it's really durable.

My 2 year old grandson plays with this train table almost non-stop when he is at my house! He loves it! The train that comes with it runs really well in it but he has already tried the Thomas Wooden trains which fit the track but tend to fall over on turns or hills. Some of his Cars movie cars fit also. He likes taking out the bridge and watching the train crash into the valley. All the signs and trees provide things to crash into also. The little logs are a bit small for him (probably why it is recommended for 3 years old) so I have taken them away to be safe. Everything else is appropriate for a 2 year old to stay interested for hours.

I bought this as a gift for my nephew's 1st birthday - our sitter has it as well - just a really nice size table and lots to do on it. My 5 and 3 year old like it as well.

About Me Parent Of Two Or More Children, Stay At Home Parent
Table is sturdy and the desing is cute. The only problem we keep having with the train is that it gets stuck at the bridge and at the train station. My son got bored with it and kept getting mad that he had to push the train to get it unstock. We are using the top for his Thomas train set he got for Christmas.

About Me First Time Parent
It's a very good product for the price. I like that it's not just a plain table but multi-usage. You don't need extra storage for the station and bridge. It's also easy to move around and clean. Can be used on a porch on beautiful days. My son loves it. He loves the train, but I had to keep the other small accessories for now, because he puts them in his mouth all the time. He's only 17 months anyway. He absolutely loves his table, either way. No regret so far!
My class loves it!

This product is a perfect height for my preschool SDC students. I love that there is a lid so the students clearly understand when they are able to play with the train set and when they are not. I did substitute the train with wooden train pieces that the students have to push...and also added some HotWheel type cars. All of which fit perfect on the simulated tracks. Since I purchased this out of my own pocket, the price played a significant role in my choice. Great deal...great product!

[...]Assembly was easy and quick. My 3yr old even helped me put on the stickers. - We haven't used the lid yet but I have noticed that you'll need to remove the bridge and building inorder for the lid to fit. - Both my 3yr old son and 17m old daughter enjoy playing with this table. - Only con = I wish the signs/trees snapped on to the table. Sometimes when they bump the table, all the trees fall down.
