        I bought this particular model because it has a closed front. I have a little boy who liked to pull tapes and DVD's off the shelves of the open front type models. He has not messed with this one...maybe because he can't tell what it really is. It looks really nice even as an accent piece. I am really happy with this purchase and hopefully plan to buy a second one.

          the weight on the door caused the hinges to get loose-- screws loosened. We replaced the tiny screws with bigger ones, and now it supports the weight.

              I have this pedastal in my living room and it looks beautiful. It is well made, very sturdy and stores a ton of cd's and dvd's. It came already assembled-all you have to do is put in the shelves, so that is a plus. It is worth the price.

                I recently purchased this pedestal online [...]. All I had to do was add the pegs for the shelves and put them in. Kudos to Meijer for that!!! I condensed 2 totes of movies and music into this and was amazed that they all fit. A friend of mine thought I bought it from an art gallery and it was just a decorative piece of furniture. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for an elegant storage item.
