I purchased this bookshelf with the Sonoma platform bed, night stand and chest of drawers. It's very nice, but not as sturdy overall as the Sonoma pieces. I have put heavy things on the bottom shelf, and it's still a little wobbly. Still, it's very pretty and for my teenager's room, it will work. I would recommend it, but would make sure they knew about the bit of instability I found.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
