This 4-element space heater by Source Green Heat utilizes infrared technology to effectively use less energy to produce soft, even heat from floor to ceiling for up to a 1,000 sq ft room. The quartz heater features include touch button controls for programmable timer/temperature and low/high heat settings. The electric space heater comes with a remote control with up/down settings. Ideal as an electric room heater, portable heater, garage heater, or just as a home heater.

Like all space heaters, do not use too close to drapes or walls. Use common sense. Don't leave in a child's room: Like most space heaters, if paper is placed within inches of the heating element, it could be a fire hazard. It get's hot up close, but generally safer than most space heaters and far safer that a parabolic "quartz" heater. Top, sides and back stay cool to the touch. Very similar to the "Eden-Pure" heater which sells for at least double the price. Quartz tube will eventually require replacement-lifespan or availabiity is unknown. It will run up your electric bill-a lot. Maybe $30 a month. I use it in an oversized family room with high ceilings where it would cost me hundreds (thousands?) of dollars to replace the drafty original windows. No fan-only setting, so not for use in summer.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
