I have had a pair of these for over 2 years, and they have been through a great deal. I've had my dog chew through the wire, which I replaced with a wire set from another pair of Sony headphones with a bit of solder and time. The right side of the headset came off, when they were stepped on, at the point where you adjust the size. After using some glue and luck as always when trying to glue plastic they work as great as when I bought them perhaps a bit more solid due to them no longer being free-moving on either side where you adjust the height. Through all this they work as great as the day I got them. These truly are the greatest earphones ever, and the only pair I will ever buy again!

I bought these Sony MDR-V300 Headphones because I couldn't find the Sony MDR 7502 Headphones that I've used before and broke a pair. The Sony MDR-V300 Headphones have way too much bass response and it will make your music sound like you're listening to a walkman. They are also a little uncomfortable after wearing them longer than 10 minutes or so... ***I'm writing this review to make sure if you're into STUDIO music prodcution that you don't purchase these and make the same mistake... I'm looking to return these tomorrow morning to the SONYSTYLE site or a local STORE.

Just wonderful

Comments about Sony MDRV250V Studio Monitor Headphones with Volume Control:

Don't get me wrong. These headphones are perfect! I got them as an option with my stereo and they work great! Couldn't detect a single flaw. Even the cord is long enough for the standard user. I've found them perfect so far and do not have any complaints. Thanks for the cheap yet great product Sony!

Good sound, but cheap plastic

Comments about Sony MDRV250V Studio Monitor Headphones with Volume Control:

I bought these for everyday listening. I use them while on the treadmill. The sound quality is good. About 6 months after I bought them the left side swivel broke. It's just a piece of plastic. Now the phones don't stay on my head :-(

Sony MDR-V300 DJ Stereo Headphones

Comments about Sony MDRV250V Studio Monitor Headphones with Volume Control:

As the painter fine tunes a diverse color palette with subtle brush strokes to achieve a delicate balance between light and shadow on a canvas to present proper time, place, season, and emotional perspective to the viewer, the Sony MDR-V300 Studio Monitor Series stereo headphones provide natural, warm, and fulfilling sound tones on an elegant yet creatively crafted soundstage for the professional audiophile and artist alike to revel over. From the Dongan Hills to Pleasant Plains and across all the other great neighborhoods around the world, this pair of Sony headphones provides a concert venue bass heavy sound presentation to mobile users to transform the most mundane daily tasks into a high quality personal audio experience. The Sony MDR-V300 headphones offer an acoustic paradise upon impact. These cans present signature Sony sound profiles on rock, dance, trance, hip-hop, house music, marching band songs, carousel tunes, and classical music. That signature profile entails crisp bass response on percussion instruments such as the piano, piccolo, maracas, snare drum, bass drum, electric bass, and the hammered dulcimer. The Sony headphones exhibit lifelike midrange tonality on guitar riffs, licks, chords, scales, chops, and various fret pitch ranges on classic rock tracks. The Sony DJ headphones demonstrate superbly powerful vocals on broken-hearted love songs, country duets, and stadium rock anthems. The headphones produce an eclectic mix of harmonious rhythms from the harmonica, trumpet, clarinet, cymbals, tambourine, trombone, tuba, harp, violin, xylophone, Irish bagpipes, and electronic synthesizers across many different music genres. The sound experience is so amazingly real on these Sony headphones that I am able to hear the plucking of guitar strings with the guitar pick on many 60’s acoustic folk rock tracks. Sony headphones recreate the fond memories from dreams, aspirations, and events gone by from a distant past. Bucolic mountain ranges, erupting volcanoes, submarines, battleships, fighter jets, the turbulent sea, a pouring rain, atmospheric storms, twisters, earthquakes, song birds, crimson red sunsets, frolicking flowers in the garden, the forests and fields torn asunder. These are just some of the sights and sounds that customers may experience with the magnificent Sony Studio Monitor headphones while watching a movie on a 10.1 inch Sony BDP-SX1000 Portable Blu-ray Disc Player on a time consuming cross-country flight. The Sony headphones are also ideal for auditioning theatrical musical scores at home, listening to sounds of nature compact discs in the morning, and they produce studio quality audio while relaxing to the beat of a rock opera at work. The Sony headphones are a perfect choice for any demanding recording studio professional looking for acoustically faithful reproduction before, during, and after undiscovered new artist recording and remixing sessions. Additionally, you may simply want to experience upgraded first class Sony headphone sound for your existing MP3 player or smartphone. Sony has left nothing out of this expertly designed pair of DJ stereo headphones. The Sony headphones are comfortable to wear for an extended time period. The Sony headphones easily transport the user into an immersive acoustic environment for hours of uninterrupted music playback. I am unable to hear other outside distractions in my immediate surroundings when wearing the Sony Studio Monitor headphones. Sound leakage is not an issue thanks to the high quality sound absorbing ear pad cushion construction. The Sony headphones feature set is very impressive for both novice and experienced users. Those high quality portable audio features are: two channel stereo reproduction for excellent channel separation between vocals and musical instruments, 30mm diameter binaural dome type drivers for deep bass presentation, reversible ear cups, single-sided monitoring capability for pro DJ use, folding ear cups, swivel ear cup design for easy transportation in an equipment bag to another workplace destination, 3.5mm (1/8) straight gold-plated fixed mini plug connector for maximum signal transfer, detachable phone plug, corrosion-resistant gold-plated plugs, high-energy neodymium magnets enables advanced sound reproduction on bass heavy club music tracks from smaller diameter drivers, P.E.T. diaphragms for extended low frequency response on demand, padded ear cups, adjustable 1-9 scale wide molded headband for maximum comfort, L/R ear cup placement marks, over-the-head closed dynamic supra-aural design provides ear-conscious positioning, high quality voice coils for excellent power handling capacity, lightweight design to accommodate virtually any portable audio task, 3.0m (118 in. or 9.8 ft.) double-sided oxygen-free copper litz wire cord for enhanced electrical conductivity, high-grade metallic silver finish on the ear cups for beautiful appearance, black headband and vinyl ear pads, 500mW (IEC) power handling capacity for stringent daily usage at high output levels in the recording studio, 16-22,000Hz frequency response provides full spectrum coverage of low bass, midrange, and treble frequency ranges, 24 ohms at 1 kHz impedance rating for robust audio output from battery operated portable audio devices, wide dynamic range, low distortion, 102db/mW sensitivity rating for excellent loudness output, and this unit's weight is 4.0 ounces (115 g) without cord. The Sony MDR-V300 headphones include a 90-day parts and labor limited manufacturer warranty. The Sony stereo headphones are suitable for use at home, at work, outdoors, traveling, listening to the radio, and enjoying tunes from your iPod. I use the Sony MDR-V300 headphones primarily to listen to my Sony ICF-38 AM/FM radio for an exciting portable audio experience. The Sony stereo headphones will work with any pocket radio’s monaural earphone jack with the use of a 3.5mm (1/8) mono-to-stereo plug adapter. The headphone cord offers plenty of length for just about any studio recording or portable audio application. Nonetheless, additional cord length up to 25 feet in most cases can be added easily with a connection to any 3.5mm (1/8) stereo headphone extension cord. The Sony headphones do not come with a carrying pouch for storage or an in-line volume control. However, the Sony DJ headphones do come with a 1/4 (6.3mm) gold-plated screw type UniMatch stereo plug adapter to connect to a home stereo system’s full-size .25 inch headphone jack. The Sony MDR-V300 headphones sound great with EQ settings enabled or disabled on the source component. A headphone amplifier is certainly compatible with this product, but not necessary to make this pair of Sony headphones produce beautifully detailed sound. The Sony MDR-V300 headphones produce subwoofer caliber bass performance, detailed midrange, and studio-grade vocals which make this pair of cans a wonderful selection for the DJ on a budget. Good Luck. Enjoy.

Comments about Sony MDRV250V Studio Monitor Headphones with Volume Control:

This is a good spare headphones, but dang I think Sony only wanted 7 foot people to buy these headphones, because of how long the cord is! It would've been better if the cord was a little shorter, like 3 feet shorter. And the volume changer would be a good add up as well.

This is the best sony headphone that I have tried. My old ones broke due to a little cousin but they were in excellent condition before that. I had my old ones for almost 4 years so they are defintely worth the money because the quality lasts, bass is good, sound is great, lyrics are clear. After i wanted to try a new one so i bought the MDR-XB300..it was alright, the bass was good but the so called cushions hurt my ears...didn't like it so i returned it and purchased these again. thats how much i love them.

          Perhaps Expectations Were Too High

Comments about Sony MDRV250V Studio Monitor Headphones with Volume Control:

When my MDR-V150 headphones quit after much longevity and rugged use, I found it was finally time to upgrade. My MDR-V150s left me looking only for a pair comparable to them and turned a blind eye to all other brands in my search. After much searching through a retail store, I found these. The sales person had actually tried to sway me from my decision to purchase, but the V300 in my mind was going to be all the excellence of the V150 and more. Unfortunately, my eager anticipation turned to disappointment when I used them. For all the years I had owned the V150s, I had wondered what the better versions would sound like, but in my preference, the V150s beat the V300s in all performance aspects. The V300s just had too much of that fake bass sound like an EQ punching the midranges to sound like there was bass in a song where it was lacking. The sound was not crisp or defined as it was with the V150s and I was truly saddened to have to take them in for an exchange on a different brand that same day.

Comments about Sony MDRV250V Studio Monitor Headphones with Volume Control:

I love this thing for a stay at home headset. Amazing bass, amazing sound, and comfy. But I wish the cord was maybe 3 feet shorter. I'd love to walk to around with this amazing sound. But I'm 5'10 and it's taller than I am.Also, the 1st iPhone has a jacked up headphone jack. Haha. Its all super small, it's 3.5 still, but only certain headphones can go into it if you know what I mean. But that's my iPhone's problem. All in all, good headphones. Sony won't let me swear on here. So it would of been better without the adjustments of my words. Haha
