Comments about Sony MDRPQ1 PIIQ Premium Headphones:

I bought these for something different after my MDR-V6s finally died. I love the fit, it's very adjustable and doesn't budge after you find your perfect size. They're incredibly stylish, futuristic, and look like they will definitely hold up. The cord is awesome. Not only is it removable but it's flat - certainly less of a pain than the traditional flimsy/easily tangled cords. The speakers are angled towards your ear in a way I've not seen before. So far, the sound is good but not stellar. I think with a bit more breaking in they'll be better though. Balance is just not there yet.

These are the greatest pair of headphones I own by far, the only downside? I can't wear them anywhere other than my house, because they're dipped in pink.

Comments about Sony MDRPQ1 PIIQ Premium Headphones:

I don't know why so many people complain about the color of these headphones. It may be pink but it's a dark pink and looks sexy. They sound great, and are good for their price.

Comments about Sony MDRPQ1 PIIQ Premium Headphones:

the impedance at 70 ohms is really high for a $100 headphones, and really catches you off guard if you weren't expecting to use an amp with these.

Comments about Sony MDRPQ1 PIIQ Premium Headphones:

While these have great sound for there price, they have absolutly no noise isolation. I though they would since they're closed headphones but walking down the street, I had to put the volume to the max! Awsome as long as you stay inside.

              By SCUDS

              from Los Angeles, Ca.

              Pros

              • fantastic for HIP HOP

              Cons

              • People make fun of the color

              Best Uses

Comments about Sony MDRPQ1 PIIQ Premium Headphones:

If you use a booster amp, you're gunna be very happy with these. They are simply amazing. I'm sure there are phones that are a little better for strings, but not for bass n' treble. For my listening taste, they can't be beaten for Hip Hop sounds. BTW, I do also own Studio Beats. I prefer the Sony marquiis with a booster amp.....Grand Slam Bargain of 2010!

                Good purchase

                By RandomGuyRFST

                from NY

                Pros

                • Comfortable
                • Cool design
                • I like the detachable cord (maybe colored ones sold eventually)

                Cons

                • but relatively good bass
                • Not too wonderfully sounding
                • slightly tinny sounder for higher pitches

                Best Uses

Comments about Sony MDRPQ1 PIIQ Premium Headphones:

Overall I think they are good, nothing spectacular like I was expecting, but still not a terrible purchase. I really like how Sony designed the detachable cord, and the adjustment design is also very nice(stays in place, where as other headphones I have had don't). The pink isn't terrible, but at the same time I would've preferred a lime green, or just any color choice. One thing that does bug me is the fact that the speakers turn towards your ears, and thus it sometimes rubs up against your ear and the fabric that covers them is no the softest, and it causes slight irritation. I'd certainly recommend them, just maybe wish they were 10-15 dollars cheaper, then they would be more worth the money. As for sound, I think it sounds overall OK, there is a good amount of bass, but at higher pitches it seems to be "tinny" for lack of a better word.

                  • Look cool

                  Cons

                  • Audio quality is poor
                  • Hard to wear to one side

Comments about Sony MDRPQ1 PIIQ Premium Headphones:

100 compared to the Bose On-Ear headphones. The Bose On-Ears have crisper sound/better quality than these. By the way, they're not red--they're PINK.
