These are great i got them for 53$ sony did a price match with j&R for me & i am more then pleased. The sound quailty is great & they look good to there not bulky & they come with a cool looking case.

I bought these as a replacement of my AKG headphones. The sound quality is really good. I tried a friend's bose headphones which have better base but the overall sound is much better on the SONY headphones.

I bought these to start the year with new headphones. I thought that since they were expensive and a quality brand they might be better than the $39.99 MDR-EX56/BLK premium EX earbuds (also here on Sonystyle). I didnt get to use them until I got back home, once I put them in and turned the music on I was amazed at the average quality of sound they gave me. I spent $87.17 for these headphones and they have the same quality as the $39.99 MDR-EX56/BLK premium EX headphones. Then i bought the Bose in-ear headphones and was even more amazed of the average quality headphones. $100 headphones have the same quality as the $39.99 ones. MY POINT IS THAT: YOU DONT ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. YOUR BASICALLY PAYING FOR THE BRAND.

I don't have fancy words to describe my feelings about the MDR-EX300. I've had these headphones for nearly a year and have no complaints. These are easily the best headphones I've ever owned. No need to turn volume up much as they just blast the music into your ears and the clarity is awesome. I owned the MDR-EX85LP prior to these and while they were okay, sound quality wasn't as good, they shorted out on me in about 10 months, and weren't as comfortable. Also, the MDR-EX85LP aren't as good a deal for the price either. Spend the extra $20 and get the MDR-EX300, you won't regret it. If these headphones (MDR-EX300) are this awesome I can only imagine what the MDR-EX500LP and MDR-EX700LP sound like. Too bad I can't afford to spend $299 to find out :). My only wish is that when purchasing replacement cushions give me 4 sets of medium for 8.99 not SS, S, M, L

I bought these to upgrade from my Sony MDR-EX75 headphones. The MDR-EX300 are rated with much better frequency response on the website at: 4hz-28 khz. However, upon receiving the headphones and listening to them... I discovered that the actual frequency response (and the one stated on the actual box) was 5hz- 24 khz. This is a huge difference in quality and nearly the same as the MDR-EX75 headphones I was replacing these with. The MDR-EX75 were rated at 6hz - 24 khz. Because the MDR-EX75 are much cheaper (with virtually the same specs as these) and that These MDR-EX300 had grossly false advertised specifications, I'm deeply regretful that I bought these!
