Comments about Sevylor Samoa Standup Paddle Board - Green and White:

I bought this for my fiance who weighs 245 lbs. The board has a 250 max. rating. For me it's sturdy (125 lbs) but it flexs quite a bit in the middle for him and water comes over the top where he stands. I would say it's probably not ideal for heavier riders although it's been an ok board for him to learn on.

    Pros:

    - It's affordable
    - Stable w/ deck pad
    - Moves through the water quickly
    - It packs well into a car so you won't need a roof rack or SUV.

    Cons:

    - It takes some time to pump. At 5' and 125 lbs I cannot pump it to the 12 psi max and my fiance really has to work to get it to 11 psi. At about 10 psi the hose will fall off the pump so you will need to super glue it.

    - It has some flex and vibration because it's inflatable. In waves/chop it's more pronounced.

I have a two regular SUP boards and would still recommend this as a starter board. If you aren't going to get serious about SUP or if you are on a budget then this board would be the right for you. Great for families and individuals wanting to try something new on the water. Anything beyond I would suggest saving your money and buying a true SUP board that fits your size and weight.

Comments about Sevylor Samoa Standup Paddle Board - Green and White:

I ordered two boards. One is fine, and the other (like a previous comment) had a backwards fin mount[...]. I've only used the good one a few times but it seems to work very well and my kids love it. The price beats anything else I've seen.

        Inflatable SUP

Comments about Sevylor Samoa Standup Paddle Board - Green and White:

Meijer was by far the cheapest place to order this on-line. [...] (No paddle included). As far as quality of the product, one of the fin mounts was backwards so I had to re-order it directly from Coleman for the warranty. Overall the product is what you pay for. I pumped it up to about 10 PSI and it does do well on a lake or river with some chop. Compared to a non-inflatable SUP there is a huuge difference as far as stroke efficiency and glide, but for a[$] SUP that's inflatable, it's a pretty good deal. (ask me again later when I pop it taking it over a rock and you'll probably get another review, but for now I am happy with this purchase). BTW I am using it on rivers and lakes. For surf I would probably go with a non inflatable, but I bet you take this out on some waist-high smaller, softer waves. As far as traveling with it. Its kinda heavy and comes in a awkward backpack. I cant imaging lugging this around an airport just for the sake of having your "Coleman" SUP with you. I would probably just rent a board wherever I went rather than taking this with, but you could throw it in a car and have it handy just in case you needed to hop in the water on a road trip and not have to worry about the sun warping it or having it stolen.

Comments about Sevylor Samoa Standup Paddle Board - Green and White:

The price is the best on the Internet. This was the only affordable way possible for me to get into Stand Up Paddling. I have surfed for 23 years, but couldn't spend $1000 on a stand up Paddleboard. By using Meijer.com I was able to get one for less than half of that price.

Comments about Sevylor Samoa Standup Paddle Board - Green and White:

I picked up two of these boards. Great paddleboard for small waves and under. Since it is inflatable, it has great portability. It is very buoyant as my wife jumped on (she never surfed) and had no problem balancing. It is well constructed and did not loose air pressure.

I did take this board out into the Atlantic, it is not as nimble as most boards but this board costs 5-10x less than most. This is more of a cruiser than anything.

Keep in mind this kit does not come with a paddle. My friend has the same board with another kit that did, the paddle is pretty short for a paddleboard paddle and the quality of it is not too great. I'd rather pick up an adjustable one anyway.

Bottomline: This is a great board for flat and small wave areas. It is great for beginners. Well constructed and very portable. Very inexpensive.
