My husband bought a Sevylor Fiji about 11/2 year ago and we would go out together. We had fun a few weeks ago along the Salt River here in Arizona, so I suggested I get one. He is jealous of my new Sevylor Fiji, the inflation design is nicer and the color. He says he might order a new one even though his is still in great shape after all the river miles he has but on it.

This boat packs a lot of fun into a very compact and portable package. Easy to inflate and deflate , and fairly good performance in the water. Add the optional skeg (sold seperately)for better tracking. This isn't going to compete with a solid Kayak on performance, but if you want something light and packable , or just to keep in the car for spur of the moment excursions, it's fine for that. [...] said this was a normal shipping time , so allow at least two weeks for delivery !

For the price this kayak is great. I take it out on the bay and it is very comfortable and extreemly easy to inflate and deflate with the self plugging valves.

This kayak can be difficult to steer and often spins in moderate winds. I purchased the skeg rudder for this kayak and hope that it will remedy some of the tracking issues.

At first I wasn't sure that an [$] inflatable kayak (Sevylor) would deliver. Was I ever surprised!. It's extremely easy and fast to inflate and performs amazingly. So far I've spent 3 days using it on on the Cedar River, near my home. It's a dream on flat water and thrilling on the class 1-2 rapids I encountered. I asked for this gift to use for fishing and it's allowed me to catch more and much bigger fish - faster - than I ever did by fishing from the river banks. The extra bonus is the remarkable ease of use and enjoyment I'm having just exploring the river and relaxing. I have a very bad back and was worried that using the kayak might leave me overexerted. On the contrary, it's like "back therapy". I just love the thing. And by the way, I'm the envy of all the other kayakers who rent rigid wood or metal kayaks and canoes from Burchfield Park in Lansing Michigan as I breeze by them expending a fraction of their effort. I am definitely buying several more of these for my family so they can accompany me on my river forays. It's probably my favorite gift EVER.

Although we greatly enjoyed the kayak, in practical terms it can be a little difficult to paddle in a straight line... until you add the separately sold skeg to the stern! Then it tracks MUCH better, and steering becomes possible. Otherwise, this little craft is all it's advertised as, and is a lot of fun on flat water, at a VERY affordable price. [...] PS--- If two people are going to using the kayak, don't forget to order an extra paddle; this product is only shipped with one, and you'll want both passengers paddling!
