Schoenhut Daycare Durable Piano
Schoenhut's sturdy 37-key piano was designed with daycare centers in mind, but it is also perfect for home use. Built of solid maple and 1/2" birch plywood, it is crafted entirely by hand and built to endure active play. With a keyboard almost half the size of an adult piano, the 3-octave span allows plenty of room to play with both hands. Chromatically tuned, the lovely chime-like notes are produced by hammers striking precision-ground, German steel music rods.

Schoenhut's learning system, with its play-by-color teaching method, makes playing simple and fun. A removable color strip fits behind the keys to guide small fingers, and works on adult keyboards, since keys on Schoenhut toy pianos are of corresponding width. This teaches children proper "finger stretch" from the very beginning. The accompanying songbook contains a collection of familiar tunes. This learning system has been specially designed to build a child's confidence and develop basic playing skills. For ages 3 years and up.

Not worth the money

This piano is way too expensive for what it is. It sounds nothing at all like a real piano--it just makes a tinny toy noise. It is definitely not sturdy enough or large enough to be used for a child older than 4 or 5.

This is a great beginner's piano. The color coded instruction book is easy to follow and learn. The bench (included) is the perfect size for my 3 year old granddaughter.

The structure is solid and looks nice. But the piano quality, even for a kid, is very poor. The keys move sideways, a lot. The sound is irritating. I knew it would sound metallic, but expected a cleaner sound, more like a xylophone rather than carillon bells. Ended up returning it.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
