    We purchased this for our 6 year old son and the size is very appropriate for now and several years to come--I was so worried that it would be sized for a toddler, but it's not too small at all. It looks fantastic and the drums are holding up well to very enthusiastic drumming! My only complaint is that the components come loose--the cymbal screws keep coming off, the snare drum slides out, the stool comes apart as it's moved, etc. However, this is not a huge problem, as we just put it back into place and tighten down again. Meijer had the best price by far, and this is a terrific first drum set for our first grader.

        My parents bought this set for my boys, ages 6 and 8. The sound quality is great, the drums are well made and when put together, the set is sturdy. In the past, we've purchased "kids" drums from other manufacturers ~ they were a disappointment right out of the box. I highly recommend Schoenhut (and a set of earplugs!!!) =)

          My 4 year old son is in love with this drum set. It was easy to assemble and is perfect for 3-7 year olds. I sit and play sometimes, too, but it is not ideal for adults. The drum sticks are very good quality, too! The red color is fabulous and shiny, and the stool is the perfect complement to this set! The BEST thing about buying this set from Meijer is the fact that it was $100 cheaper here than anywhere else[...] Thanks for the great deal! Will buy from here again!

                  My 5-year-old son loves his new little drum set. It's the perfect size for him. It gives him the feeling that he's playing a "big set," but it's in fact a nice, compact size. It comes with everything you need for the beginning drummer, including a throne (seat) and drum sticks. The color is really cool, too. Big sound from a little set!
