Schoenhut 37-Key Elite Baby Grand Piano
With a keyboard almost half the size of an adult piano, this new model is designed with the 3-9 year old in mind. Not just a toy, it is a fine musical instrument and beautiful piece of furniture. Unsurpassed in quality, pitch, and durability, each baby grand is crafted entirely by hand and individually tuned. Its chime-like notes are produced by little hammers striking metal bars. The lovely toy piano sound is what makes the Schoenhut charming and unique.

Schoenhut's patented Learning System, with its play-by-color teaching method, is designed to make playing fun and easy. A removable color strip fits behind the keys to guide small fingers, and works on adult keyboards, since keys on Schoenhut toy pianos are of corresponding width. This Learning System has been specially designed to build a child's confidence and develop basic playing skills. This teaches children proper "finger stretch" from the very beginning. The accompanying songbook contains a collection of familiar tunes. For ages 3 years and up.

    Very happy with the product iteself, but disappointed with the company decision to apply the plastic music stands to all models. Service call rep. explained that marketing materials are in the process of being updated ... even this survey used the old picture. I would have expected the marketing materials to be updated prior to the product update ... even the box and manual depict the solid wood stand no longer provided. The plastic stand makes the piano look cheap!

    We are very happy with this 3-octave spinet piano. Although it may be considered a toy, my 6yo daughter's play time with this instrument is training her ear and giving her exposure to written music as well. My only criticism would be that the color-coded paper keyboard guide does not quite exactly match up with the keys, so there is a bit of distortion toward the end, but my child has not seemed to notice this and can still easily play through the songbook. Overall, I feel very satisfied with the product and feel like it's a very nice and practical instrument for a child. Oh, and everyone who's encountered this little piano so far has enjoyed playing it, regardless of age.
