Having built a number of Sauder pieces for different family members over the years I didn't have any issues with building my own furniture. Unfortunately, the pieces did not fit together and had to be forced in places. Other places were warped so the pre-installed pegs wouldn't go into the matching holes. After getting it all put together, as I moved it into place one of the front legs cracked off completely. As I tried to determine if I could glue it back together reliably, one of the center bottom supports fell out. The metal piece inside that holds the screw ell out completely so the support would not stay in the base at all. Since one leg broke and I don't trust a repair will hold, I'll probably just saw off the back legs so I can set it flat on the ground. That or get a more reliable tv stand.

I purchased this unit from the store and was looking for something that was a little taller than our previous TV stand. I think this one is a bit too tall for our living room though and as the description says this is probably best suited as a bedroom TV stand. As the other reviewer stated much of it is already assembled and it "should" have been a quick job, but the back piece did not lock into place properly and I had to make a couple adjustments to some of the hardware to get it to work. Having said that I was pretty impressed that for once the back wasn't just some folded piece of laminated cardboard that had to be nailed on. Overall I think it seems like a quality stand especially for the price.

I would easily give this unit 5 stars for looks and actually it was not all that hard to put together, much of it being preassembled. It only took an hour and would have been shorter had we not encountered any problems. The longer boards are warped so they are hard to get into the slots esp the middle long shelf. Then on top of that there are some pegs that fit in to keep the top shelf secure and the two on the back are not drilled in the right place so you can not use them at all. When it was put together and I put the doors on they appear crooked because of the warped boards and there is no fix for this short of taking it back and hoping you get one without warped boards. I put this in the category that you get what you pay for. If you want to save money by getting a decent looking tv stand for only #200 and give up a little in quality then you will be happy with this stand. While I would have liked for everything to fit together properly we are still relatively pleased with the finished results given the price. Had it been more it would have had to go back.
