I purchased the MX650 for my 11 year old son. He has not ridden any type of dirt bike before but is proficient with a bicycle. He had no problem getting used to riding the MX650 which has enough power for him to go 15-20mph. I would say that he weighs about 90lbs. His sister, who is 13, also rode it with no difficulty and enjoyed it very much, she is perhaps 100lbs. [...] It took about 30 minutes to assemble. The front disc brake was too tight, but by loosening the brake cable, the disc tightness and angle could be adjusted. There should be an explanation of this in the instructions as others have mentioned this minor issue. The bike is heavy (100lbs) due to the battery and must be stored inside a heated building -- so winter storage in an unheated garage is not advisable. Overall, with only a week's experience, I am quite satisfied with this purchase. There is only one MAJOR flaw that should be mentioned (and everyone does mention it)... the silly decals are practically peeling off right out of the box. They are slapped on, hardly aligned and I cannot for the life of me understand why the mfr. wouldn't pay more attention to the most cosmetic element of an otherwise solid product... go figure? I used some clear tape to try to adhere the decal edges and prevent peeling, but not sure how long this will last.
