Buyers beware. The unit we received was defective. We called the manufacturer many times to trouble shoot and nothing worked. It seems like a problem with the tank lid. The steam would not come out like it should. When we lifted the tank a little and dropped it back in, it would work great for about ten minutes. We're in the process of sending it back and trying a whole new unit. We hope the next one works because it's a great humidifier otherwise. We found one other person who purchased it and reviewed it on another website and she had the same exact problem we did.

After warm and wet summers on Long Island our noses suffer during the winter. I don't sleep like a top and every noise wakes me up. I though kettles, microwaves, humidifiers – they're all the same - boil, cook, moisten. Recently we were using "frog" and it looked good especially among toys but falling asleep may become an art. As soon as we switched into Germ Guardian we've noticed a big difference. The humid stayed and the noise vaporized for good. Basically the same purpose and similar device but now we feel like professionally taken care of. We stopped looking for another product. Try it and you are going to feel quite a change.

After researching, I finally decided to get the Germ Guardian Ultrasonic. No regrets. The best features are the quiet and easily controllable moisture output. It's amazing, no leaks or puddling on the floor, like the last two I owned. The only thing I don't care for is the blue light, but I just covered it, too bright during sleeping for me, but my wife doesn't mind. I highly recommend it.

I use this in the kids bedroom. I keep it running all the time, but lower the humidity level during the day. I have been using it for about 3 weeks now and haven't had any problems.

It's quiet, the windows don't steam up like with other unit's I have used.
