I have 4 chinchillas in my cage and this weekend I was cleaning it and the legs with the wheels were wobbly so I unscrewed everything and found the legs to be broken because my pets pee down the edge or wherever they want really and everything was rusty. This cage is good if you can take it outside and hose it down and let it dry so that liquid doesn't sit where it shouldn't a long winter killed this cage for us and we have only had it for 6 months.

Product is great, instructions are not easy to assemble according to sheet. If each piece could have the part # on it (as the instruction states) it would be more operator friendly.

Where would I find extra platforms; Chinchilla's have a habit of chewing.

Most chinchillas cages have too many plastic components and plastic covered wire - which they CHEW. Also the doors tend to be a pain - cannot be opened with one hand - THIS cage is fantastic and on sale was a GREAT deal. The only shortcoming for my usage is that chinchillas don;t do well with wire floors. The cage has plastic ramps and two platforms but I put down cardboard to cover some of the wire flooring. They have a jumbo wheel which fits fine and they like the hammock. I can take them in and out easily and cleanup is a breeze with the pull out tray. BUY THIS if you are thinking about it...

This is a great cage for a chinchilla. Removing the middle rack does not alter its sturdiness, thus giving lots of room for ledges and hammocks. The bar spacing is nice. Only one side swings open. The removeable pan slides in and out easily enough but is only supported by tracks on each side. Bedding can be heavy and chinchillas need a slate to keep cool on. So the weight in the pan can be an issue. Other than the pan needing to have better support, the cage is great and am very happy with it.

Great cage, I definately reccomend it. Its very sturdy and looks great in my living room (better than my old wire cage). My two ferrets love it and have plenty of room to run around now. =] It's a bit complicated to put together but it's worth it in the end. The only thing i did was put WD-40 on the latches to loosen them up alittle. Perfect for multiple ferrets.

I am new to having rats. I had my 2 rats in a 10 gal aquarium with a wire topper which was adaquate, but wanted something bigger for them. This is exactly as advertised. It has lots of space and is easy to clean. Only problem I had was one of the latches broke after only 2 weeks - I just superglued it and now it is fine. Good for rats.

Our pet Chinchilla loves her new habitat. This is advertised to be a ferret cage but it is great for Chinchillas. It gives our pet plenty of room for great exercise.

This cage is so much easier to clean than our last ferret cage. The only real objection I have is to the fact that the second floor is wire, not plastic, and the spaces look too wide to me to feel safe for my ferrets' little feet. I cover it with fleece, which works, but I'd have preferred a solid plastic floor option. I also find the metal a bit dark and unattractive. But on the whole, due to the pull-out bottom tray (I use the tray AS the bottom, rather than the wire floor that comes to install above it) and the large door openings, I consider this cage a big improvement over our old superpet cage.
