    We, too, have owned this Prevue 125 cage for 20 + years. We wanted to replace them with newer cages.The new cages are not of the same quality as the old. We purchased (3) of Nickel cages. When they arrived, they had many sharp points on them, some of the finish was rubbed off and the finish felt rough like sandpaper. Also, the grill that slides out of the bottom of the cage is flimsy and rattles. The old ones were heavier and more sturdy for parrots.We returned the first (3) cages. [...]If you do still decide to purchase it, be careful. Make sure that you check it very, very carefully so that it doesn't cause any harm to your bird.We can't comment on the black colored cages as we have only owned the Brass and Nickel. You can't get the Brass anymore at all.Great price, but poor quality. Explains why they are no longer making it!

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

      They often say parrots do not adapt well to change although they live for a zillion years. Floyd, my African Grey, saw the cage, walked right up to it, leaped in, and started his Janis Joplin bopping, singing brightly and loudly, "YES, SIR, THAT'S MY BABY!" A great cage. A total success for my Floyd!
