    The tea kettle is best used for times when hot water is needed to make, coffee, instant soups or when hot water is needed quickly or when we need a quick spot of tea or coffee.

    What makes this tea kettle good is that it actually saves energy. By the fact that it will heat the water in less then a minute. In a microwave it would take several to heat water to boiling, especially if it is a large amount of water. Try just heating a cup of water to boiling in a microwave of 1000Watts, it will take at least 3 minutes.

    It is for one thing hard to clean. If one wanted to get the scale out, they would have to use a dilute commercial product to dissolve the scale. This is trouble because Michigan's water is so hard; lots of dissolved calcium in the water, even ground water.

        We used the Presto Electric Tea Kettle to quickly boil water for laboratory and classroom experiments as well as to make tea and coffee. So you can see that it is just as useful in school as well as in the home. Our old one burned out after several years of heavy use. Now we are replacing it with the same model.
