      Not recommended for smart active dogs. My German Shepherd puppy figured out the mechanism in 2 minutes and was eating from all compartments...

      Works great for what it is intended. My cats eat twice a day. This will feed them for 2 days with no problem. The cats have tried, but have not figured out how to open the lid. They have managed to move it around a little. I can leave for a weekend and not worry a bit. I have used this feeder for several months now.

          I travel somewhat regularly for 3-5 days at a time. This is absolutely GREAT for knowing your cat is being taken care of while you're gone. I tried it out a few days before I left just to make sure it worked like I wanted it to and it did. It's easy to program and has been very reliable for me. It holds 1 C. in each cup and my 1yr old cat had a little left over each day while I was away. Pairing this with the water fountain w/ the filter and you're all set! I love it and it gives me great comfort knowing my little guy is being taken care of while I'm away. The one downfall I found is that it's kind of annoying to clean and get leftover food out of the cups if you don't use it for everyday feeding (I only use it when I travel). Definitely recommend it!
