The ideal feeder to use for kittens, cats, and small dogs when you're leaving town, or if you simply want consistent feeding times. It serves 2 meals over a 48-hour span, and each 1-1/2 cup compartment has its own timer. The lids on the feeder won't open until the time you've set them to. Made of durable plastic with dishwasher-safe bowls, it is for indoor use only.

        The trays open up individually and on time. Be careful not to turn the dials the wrong way or you'll break it - otherwise it's great! We've had ours for over one year now and the cats get fed everytime while were gone. If you can afford it buy 2 and stagger the opening times between the two just to be extra certain they got fed. We've had no problems using only one however.

        I have a small Cat/persian (7 llbs) and he is easily able to move this around. I actually place a heavy item to weigh it down somewhat (underneath the food dishes).
        Unfortunately, he figured out how to open one side and while I was tending to something else, he opened it in less than one minute after I closed it and set the time! However, I did get about one year (6-8 uses) out of it 1st so probably saved $100 in vet fees.

        Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
