My vet recommended Oxbow Critical Care when one of my guinea pigs was very sick and not eating. She told me how to mix it with water, and use a syringe to hand feed my pig. At first my pig didn't know what I was doing, but she got used to the taste and then feeding became very easy. My pig fully recovered, and I've been using Critical Care ever since to crush up vitamin C pills and give them to my pigs mixed with critical care. My pigs love the flavor and think that when I give them a teaspoon of critical care that it's a treat! The product is very easy to mix with instructions on the bag, and Meijer packages it nicely so it arrives at my doorstep without tears in the bag. I used to buy this at my vet's office, but one time it wasn't very fresh and had a weird smell. I've been purchasing it online from Meijer ever since and it's always fresh, and my pigs love it.

I use this product when my rabbits are extremely ill and refuse to eat. It is easy to use and they will readily take it.

My chinchilla is getting older and losing his teeth. This is the only food he is really able to eat without trouble. The critical care mixes well and is perfect for a poor little chinnie like mine.

We had a pet chinchilla (who has since passed away due to a veterinarian's ruining his incisors during two dental procedures) who was diagnosed with malocclusion and needed to be fed by syringe. Oxbow Critical Care is the perfect food for them, and our pet loved it. When purchasing it from our vet, we had to buy the small package which cost so much and didn't last long. In our research online, we found Meijer to be one of the few places to carry the larger package and at an exceptional price. [...] Unfortunately, it arrived the day after our pet passed away.
