Comments about Nescafe Dolce Gusto Piccolo Coffee Maker Black:

I don't like straight coffee, so I bought this machine to make fancy coffee shop-style drinks. I've been using it occasionally (once or twice a week) for a little over a month now, and overall I've been very pleased. The machine works quite well, though I don't care for the powdery, "fake" flavor of some of the fancier pods. However, the espresso pod brews a great shot of espresso, which I can then use to create my own creations such as mochas and caramel macchiatos. I also received a free 16-pack of espresso pods from Nescafe just for registering my product online, which was just awesome.

There is one major design flaw to the Piccolo, though: the instructions for a particular drink will say to run, say, 7.2 oz of water for a steamed milk pod, then 1.4 oz of water for an espresso pod. First of all, 7.2 oz of water, really?? That's just weird. Second, and more importantly, there is no way to measure how much water you've run through a pod, unless you add just enough water to the reservoir for each individual pod. What a pain. I think it would be worthwhile to upgrade to the next model, which I believe somehow indicates how much water has gone through the pod. I wish I'd known before I bought mine; I would have upgraded. I've found ways to work around it, though, and overall I love it. I hope it lasts.
