Product Details
Mountain Boy Sledworks Ultimate Flyer 47-Inch Sled
The Ultimate Flyer is an elegant, handmade beauty that glides and turns like no other sled you've ever tried. The entire front section of the sled pivots, letting you make much sharper turns than on a conventional flexible flyer. And, it looks great standing on the porch in between sled runs. The Ultimate Flyer is made to last for generations: thick birch planks, hand-carved willow hand rails and stainless steel hardware make it tough, and the sturdy plastic skids on the bottom are designed to last for many years.

When an Ultimate Flyer is built, Mountain Boy starts with planks of beautiful, golden birch. The planks are planed down, sanded, and given several coats of marine-grade finish. Hand-carved willow handrails are attached, giving each sled a unique look and feel. Copper ferrules between the body of the sled and the rails add to the rustic look, while adding substantial strength. Just how strong - well, some crazier fans take them off 6' jumps and see how much airtime they can get.

On the bottom of the sled, a pair of proprietary, custom-molded plastic skids are attached. They're like greased lightning - very fast, but their shape allows for smooth, decisive turning. Contoured runners bite into the snow or ice so you can carve down hard-packed slopes, while a solid bottom of custom-molded slippery plastic lets the sled float through soft snow. The Ultimate Flyer meets all ASTM and USC child safety criteria. For ages 3 years and up.

Comments about Mountain Boy Sledworks Ultimate Flyer 47-Inch Sled Natural:

I have not had a chance to try out the sled yet, but was very impressed with the quality of the materials. It is a beautiful sled. The only problem I have with it is the screws that were provided to attach the steering arm had poor phillips heads. They were sloppy, almost as if they were already stripped and I had to find my own screw driver to screw them in because the provided one was too small.

Comments about Mountain Boy Sledworks Ultimate Flyer 47-Inch Sled Natural:

With three kids, I found out that I need more than one of these sleds. Last year everyone using this sled turned circles around all the other sleds on the hill. We love it!
