- Ingredients: Enriched Bleached Flour (Bleached Flour, Niacin, Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Sugar, Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Shortening (Contains One or More of the Following: Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Soybean Oil, Hydrogenated Cottonseed Oil] with Emulsifier (Propylene Glycol Monoesters, Mono and Diglycerides, Polyglycerol Esters, Lecithin), Dextrose, Cocoa (Processed with Alkali), Leavening (Baking Soda, Dicalcium Phosphate, Sodium Aluminum Phosphate, Monocalcium Phosphate), Food Starch-Modified, Salt, Corn Starch, Cellulose Gum, Xanthan Gum, Artificial Flavor.
- 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Generously grease pans and dust with flour. 2. Blend in large mixing bowl at low speed until moistened: cake mix, 3 eggs, 1-1/3 cups water, 1/2 cup oil. 3. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed or 450 strokes by hand. Pour batter into pans. 4. Bake at 350°F until done. Cake is done if toothpick is inserted in center comes out clean. Do not test for doneness by touching with finger. Two 8 inch round layers = 35-40 min. Two 9 inch round layers = 30-35 min. One 13 x 9 inch pan = 35-40 min. One 10 inch fluted tube pan = 45-55 min. 24-30 cupcakes (fill 1/2 full) = 20-25 min. Cool cake in pan up to 20 minutes (tube pan 25 min). Remove from pan and cool top side up. Frost when completely cooled. Store loosely covered. High Altitude: At altitudes over 4,000 feet, preheat oven to 375°F, mix as directed, and bake at 375°F: three 8-inch layers 25-30 min, two 9-inch layers 30-35 min, 13x9-inch pan 35-40 min, 10-inch tube 45-55 min, 24-30 cupcakes 15-20 min.
