Comments about Meijer Baby - Infant Formula with Iron - Advantage - Value Size - 1 Can (38 oz):

I had planned on breastfeeding but my son had latching issues so we had begun to supplement with Similac Advance because that is what the hospital gave us. After a almost 2 weeks, he was still having latching issues so we decided to just formula feed only. After getting sticker shock, I noticed that Meijer had their own version of Similac Advance. My son's pediatrician said at his 2 week visit that it was perfectly OK to switch to the Meijer brand...we were thrilled because it was considerably cheaper than the name-brand. The pediatrician said it's all regulated by the FDA & (in most cases) is almost identical...you're likely just paying more because of the name-brand. By buying the store-brand, we have saved TONS of money & my son is now 2.5 months old & hasn't really had any issues. He gets pretty gassy but I think that's just him...his older brother was on name-brand formula & was also gassy all the time.

We were using Gerber, but I tried this once when she was 6 months old and have liked the Meijer brand more than Gerber. Mixes much better and she's never refused it.
