    This type of collar is great for dogs that can pull out of their collar easily or have small heads (like greyhounds). However, they are best when the loop that tightens is not the only place you can attach the dog's tags. The picture shows an additional "tag" metal loop on the side of the collar so the weight of the dogs tags do not pull constantly and cinch the collar 24/7. This loop was NOT present on either one I ordered(I ordered two colors). That was the main reason I bought this collar, and I was VERY DISAPPOINTED.

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
