While these glasses are beautifully constructed and wonderfully priced, diamax clearly (pun intended) lacks the sparkle of lead crystal. In fact, these glasses have almost no sparkle. I suspect that Cristal D'Arques (the company that makes these) chose to use Diamax because of its clarity and durability, while recognizing that the material has a low refractive index; in other words, the lack of sparkle might have been intentional. I don't know why they would intentionally make a longchamp flute that doesn't sparkle; there is nothing like toasting with a dazzling crystal flute! However, since these flutes are the next-best thing (I love the longchamp design), and are considerably less expensive than lead crystal glassware, I'm giving them four stars.

Absolutely gorgeous, makes a special occasion most special. Exactly what I wanted and expected at less then 1/2 the price.
