I ordered this shield but it looks different from the picture. It does work well and you can't beat the price. I have a Kenmore mixer that uses the KitchenAid attachments and the shield fits the bowls just fine. It does cut down the flour flying out of the bowl.

This keeps the ingredients in the bowl and not in the kitchen. It is really an asset when you are mixing a large batch of cookie or bread dough and need to add the dry ingredients in batches.

I love my Kitchen Aid stand mixer and use it all the time. But a large batch -- as for multiple loaves of bread -- can send flour and other dry ingredients flying all over the kitchen. This handy little accessory solves that problem and saves me a lot of excess clean-up.

I use my KitchenAid stand mixer all the time, for bread, cookies, pastries, you name it. But sometimes, when mixing a large recipe -- like French bread, for example -- flour would go shooting all over the kitchen counter and floor. This shield works way better than trying to mold my hands around the top of the bowl to prevent flying ingredients!

I didn't realize how much I loved the pour shield until mine got stuck on the heating coil of the dishwasher and was ruined. I didn't think it was a big deal until the next time I used my Kitchen-Aid mixer. I missed the pour shield so much, I had to run right out and buy one. I use it every time so I just store it on the mixer, which is always on the counter.

If you have a Kitchenaid stand mixer, you must have this too. It keeps all powdery stuff (flour, confectioners sugar) in the bowl, instead of floating around the kitchen.
