Great tasting coffee starts with fresh water. The KitchenAid KCM111OB 12-Cup Glass Carafe Coffee Maker has a removable water tank that is easily accessible and includes printed water level indicators that make it easy to fill. The 1-4 cup brew cycle automatically adjusts the brewing process for maximum flavor when brewing small quantities while the Pause and Serve Feature stops the brew cycle to allow for pouring a cup of coffee before the entire pot is complete. A tight seal prevents the brew basket from dripping.

          The coffee maker started off producing very good brews; relatively short brew cycle, dispensed near optimal water temp, and admirable / dependable results. However, three months into ownership, the brew cycle surpasses 45 minutes, produces mainly steam, and turns 12 cups of water into 6 cups of muck. Highly, highly disappointed in this coffee maker. Either spend more for a Cuisinart, or save your money, lower your expectations a tiny bit, and get the Melitta 10 cup.

          Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

              We bought this 4 mo. ago. It is awkward to fill, brews too slow. The outside gets so hot you cannot handle it. When emptying the filter, water drips all over the top, so you need a towel to wipe it up.
              It is very well made, but operation of the unit doesnt compare to the quality of the manufacturing. And, if you don't get the pot "just right" on the plate it won't brew.
              Sometimes it brewed, and sometimes it wouldn't brew.
              This coffee maker was a disaster. We have had many different coffee makers over the years, and this one had to be he worst. Save your money.

              Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

                  I'm never dissapointed with my KitchenAid products. The coffee maker looks great on my counter and brews an excellent pot of coffee. I haven't had any problems with it after 2 years use and I use it every day.

                        we're on our second one right now. The first broke and would no longer brew after one year. They did take it back and ship a new one. Guess what. After just 2 months this one won't work properly either. I have other Kitchenaid products that are great so this is a big disappointment. I'm asking for my money back on it this time.

                        The directions say to run a pot of water before you brew coffee. I tried for 3 hrs! Finally got 3/4 pot. [$] for that?? It will go back to the store & exchanged for good old Mr Coffee.
