Comments about Jumbo Cardboard Basic Blocks - 24 Pieces:

As a disclaimer, the cardboard bricks we have are not Melissa and Doug, but I'm looking to add to our collection and was disheartened that there were only 2 reviews and they were both negative. When we bought these, I'm not sure we realized assembly was required, but we put them together for my then 3 year old and he had a good time with them. He's now almost 7, and while these spent a couple of years in a closet, he's gotten at a good couple of years out of them. When he was younger, he was pretty destructive with them, but they held up just fine. Now he's a little older and (occasionally) more refined in his use of them. They take up a lot of room, that would be my only complaint! The set we have, all the blocks are the same shape, which I prefer.

Comments about Jumbo Cardboard Basic Blocks - 24 Pieces:

I cannot begin to describe the depth of despair, and upset my Grandson, and I felt when we opened this package. I'd built it up. After all, it sounded so great.
But, when my just turned-4-yr.old, opened his gift, my heart dropped, right through the earth.
"They're fake blocks." he said. Because inside the box are rows of flat, cardboard box, things. These were not blocks. These were a lie.
All attempts to negotiate this with Melissa & Doug, were unsuccessful. I just don't want anyone else to feel this utter sense of shame and embarrassment when finding that instead of a giant box of blocks, one finds a box of difficult to assemble, things that can be blocks, if one can, and will do what the manufacturer chose not to: Put them together. What a disappointment!

Comments about Jumbo Cardboard Basic Blocks - 24 Pieces:

My son has these blocks and they are so torn up. They are not very durable and crush easily (of corse my son can be a bit distructive). They are bright colors and when he first got them, he had fun stacking and restacking them.....but, after some time they have lost his attention because they are so messed up. They will be thrown out on next toy clean-out.
