This is a nice pool, but unless you have a level spot in your yard already it can be a lot of work. We ended up paying a contractor to do the leveling because we were trying to get an 8 inch slope leveled ourselves and it was taking forever. Everything you read says make sure it's perfectly level, and yes it is true. Also blocks under the legs of the pool to keep them from sinking are a must.

We also are on a well and it cost a lot to get 13000 gallons of water delivered. Plus running electrical out to the pool site.

These have nothing to do with the Intex pool, but if you don't think about them (or may find out too late if you purchase before you think through actually getting it ready to swim), you'll actually be paying a lot more to get your pool ready for swimming.

Intex technical support is also a joke. Called twice and the people I spoke with seemed to have trouble with english. One kept trying to redirect me to the web site (which I had already pored over looking for my answer). I gave up on the second call. So you're on your own if you have questions that you need help with.

Those issues aside, we love the pool. It is very big and you can actually swim in it and have fun. Once you get it going, it is pretty low maintenance. I highly recommend troublefreepool.com to answer all of your pool questions.

My son is allergic to chlorine, so he can only swim in a pool that has/uses salt water. This filtration system is wonderful. It cost a little more than a typical filter (for chlorine) but is so much better for you. You will notice a difference on your skin and hair. Maintenance is cheaper for a saltwater pool as well!

DO NOT use sand to level ground where legs will sit, use compacted topsoil at minimum with sand fill in the middle for smooth floor.Excellent entry level pool at affordable cost if not sure you really want a permanent pool. Would prefer a hard sided pool for heavy, long term use but they are more expensive.[...]

Easy Set up in 4 hours with 2 people. It came with all the accessories you'll want Took 36 hours to fill with garden hose. It's much bigger than I thought it would be. We can swim in this one, not just play around. The pump puts out 2600 gallon per hour. That equals fun times squirting people across the pool with a little creative plumbing. This monster is 52" deep, 6" more than others by intex. But be careful, I dove in from the top of the ladder and faceplanted into the ground. Not a great start but I was all giggles after a while. You'll need 240 pounds of salt and 100 pounds of filter sand. I bought both for less than $70.00. I should tell you other retailers had this pool for $400 more, free freight was over the top, thank you Meijer.

Now that we've had the pool up for a few days and we've been able to swim in it, I can further review this item.

We love our pool! It's huge and brings hours of fun! I put the entire filter system together by myself in under an hour. Everything is working great and we've had no problems so far. Very pleased with this purchase!

[...]. It comes in 2 boxes and weighs 400 lbs. total.Set-up was pretty easy. My husband, a friend and I set it up together in about an hour or less. We're filling it with our regular garden hose, so it's taking some time. After 15 hours, we're almost halfway full. So, if you want it filled faster, I'd suggest hiring someone to fill it for you. We're in no rush, so it's no big deal. We did get in the first night when the water was ankle-deep so that our small dogs could walk around and splash a bit. :)To start with, you need to buy 310 lbs. of salt and 100 lbs. of silica sand for the filter. We bought all of the sand and salt at Home Depot for $60. It's easily labeled there as "pool filter sand" and "pool salt," so it's not easy to mess that part up. The salt came in 40 lb. bags, so we bought 8 bags. The sand came in 50 lb. bags, so we only needed 2 bags.Also, you get 2 dvds, one for the pool set-up and one for the filter set-up. The instruction booklets give you all of the information you need, but the dvds help provide a visual for you. So far, everything seems to be going smoothly. Once the pool is filled and we're actually swimming around in it, I'll update this review. As of right now, we're very satisfied with our purchase and hope to use this pool for many summers to come!

Had the 18' diameter pool with salt water and cartrage filter system up in the back yard for 2 years. We are all very much looking forward to the bigger pool and (Hopefully) improved filter system. We have a concrete pad in the back yard that no one was using for anything. Now it is the Pool Patio. I learned a lot about how to maintain these pools over the past 2 years. There are a lot of blogs and question answer sites on the web. The price of this pool was by far the best. Can't wait for summer to start!
