After trying different security setting on my Linksys router to no avail, I was about to call hp support when I realized that my Panasonic 1.9GHz DECT6 phone was on the same desk as the printer. I moved the phone to another room and the printer installed.. first under WEP, then again in WMA security. I believe this phone was the culprit. No where in the instructions does hp caution about phone interference, but I had heard of it before. Panasonic says the 19.GHz will not interfere with home routers, etc., but obviously... the printer is now running with 2 Win 7 and two XP PCs, no problem. I recommend you set up a fixed IP for the printer after it is assigned one via dhcp. Use the ip address and the browser to access the printers internal web page and set a fixed ip. I also used the cd to install the XP machines. You have to Add Printers/Local Printer (uncheck auto search)/New port/tcpip/enter static ip address/have driver/point to cd/autorun.inf, etc... Also, mine isn't noisy and goes to sleep in just a few seconds. HP should allow updates to reviews. I had to create a new user to do this...

It is hard to rate a product which is just what I wanted but has a basic flaw. I'm told by HP that the problem has never been reported before, but then most users would probably never notice it and would give a high rating. I returned the printer to the store. The problem has two parts: 1. The vertical scale is wrong, e.g, if you draw a vertical line with a certain length on a page in a software application, then print it, the line will be LONGER on the printout. 2. The length error is less on the left side than on the right side by about 2:1. The error is quite small but not insignificant in certain applications. For example, some programs draw a large chart over several pages which are then pasted together. Because of the difference in the error, lines do not match at the page boundaries (right side pg 1 to left side pg 2, etc.), by about 0.1 inch over a legal size page. The lines are much narrower than that, so they are offset and the discontinuities are unacceptable. What is so frustrating about this is that a printer should not have such a basic problem with today's technology - after all, this is a digital world. The horizontal scale is as accurate as I can measure. More than one program was used to verify the problem and the same file drawing printed perfectly on another (ink jet) printer. All of the programs and the computer used have done the same jobs many times before on other printers with no such problem. It is possible that only the one printer has the problem. Has anyone else seen the same thing? I may order another one to see if the problem is systematic, a lot of trouble.

Very good product

By paulwisc

Comments about HP LaserJet P1102w Pro Wireless Printer:

The printer is great in all features except one - it will not print C6 envelopes (6 3/4 size). If one uses these small envelopes to pay bills, an address label will have to be used. If this one feature would be corrected, the printer would be classed as fantastic.

Comments about HP LaserJet P1102w Pro Wireless Printer:

This is my second HP printer, and I can't imagine why anybody would want any other printer! The print quality is wonderful, it's easy to set up, and has a greatly improved on/off system that saves electricity. Neat, good looking, compact, fast. I recommend this printer highly.

EXCELLENT!

Comments about HP LaserJet P1102w Pro Wireless Printer:

This product was everything the HP rep explained. If you are looking to print just in black and white and a large quantity, this is the product for you! I am so happy with this product. I couldn't believe my job was printed out within seconds. At first I thought it was a jam and then when I looked at the last page it was all printed out. I am extremely thrilled with all of HP's products. I have bought two computers, two printers, scanner, paper. I love HP products! Double thumbs up to HP!

Great Printer

By WebMan

Comments about HP LaserJet P1102w Pro Wireless Printer:

Easy to setup. Works great. This is a great printer for daughter for college. It prints fast, is more economical than her InkJet printer. I would say that 95% of her printing will be black and white - not color needed. This prints fast, the toner does not run like the InkJet.

Seems to work fine.

Comments about HP LaserJet P1102w Pro Wireless Printer:

Have only used it for a few weeks -- probably less than 200 copies. Had a problem with its refusing to pick up the paper. Customer service told me what to do, and it solved the problem. No complaints.

Not for long Term Wireless

By SpillerLEdge

Comments about HP LaserJet P1102w Pro Wireless Printer:

We have 3 of these at our office now. 2 have begun to refuse to maintain their wireless connection now after 6 months. (I also have a wireless 4500 AIO at home with a similiar issue.) The printer is good wired, but the convenience of these being on the Network when wired is great... when it works.

HP delivers

By GermanKahuna

Comments about HP LaserJet P1102w Pro Wireless Printer:

I knew there was a reason why HP has been my printer manufacturer of choice for almost 20 years. I bought the LaserJet Pro P1102w for occasional home office use not expecting much in terms of gadgetery due to its small price, but what can I say: the P1102w is nothing but LARGE when it comes to innovative features for a small price. All of a sudden I noticed a new menu item on my iPhone. HEY, THIS OTHERWISE IN TERMS OF EXTERNAL ACCESSABILITY DELIBERATELY CRIPPLED APPLE TELEPHONE THING CAN PRINT! And I didn't have to do anything! My iPhone and the P1102w found each other automagically. That rocks. And so does the readily available support of Google Print. That means I can also use my HTC Flyer Tablet to print all things Android. Needless to say that it also talks Bonjour and every Mac in our house finds the printer immediately and is ready to print from it in less than a minute. Speed of availability and printing quality are more than sufficient for home and small office use IMHO. 6/5 stars from me. Would buy again anytime and can recommend the same to anyone. The P1102w will not disappoint you. Guaranteed.
