I really liked this filter until it began approaching about 1 year old. I like it so much I bought an additional one. Close to a year, the 1st filter began emitting an odor similar to a burn smell. I changed the prefilter, vacuumed the HEPA filter, and cleaned inside. No change. It sat for a while (about 2 months) without using. I tried it again after cleaning. No change. I took it apart for a closer look. No obvious damage, everything looked very clean. Reassembled it for use and still smelled the odor. Around this time, filter #2 began to smell.
