Comments about Home Styles Large Buffet - Cottage Oak Buffet Only:

We are flabbergasted at the ridiculous instructions given with this kit. You are simultaneously instructed to lay a piece on the floor AND install a screw from the side facing down. We found ourselves rotating the piece--top, face, bottom, back--around and around to access the holes required to assemble this piece. There are many pegs that are misaligned with the holes they go into. In several places the pegs were larger than the holes and started to split the wood. The lock cams were often too big for their holes so we had to work with sandpaper to enlarge the holes. We are shopping on a budget and this looked to be a nice piece for the price. We have assembled many kits and this was by far the most difficult and exasperating.
Having said that, it is good looking. The cottage oak is much darker than it looked online. I can't blame anyone for that but I can alert you. We were trying to match an existing piece of "golden oak" and this is much darker. And it isn't made out of MDF like so many pieces. There is actual wood in the box.
