Comments about Home Styles Hall Tree Storage Bench - Oak:

We purchased this (in Cherry) based on the design. It is very useful for our children to hang their backpacks and coats and the bench is a great way to hide shoes. My husband made me write this review because we were so frustrated with the assembly. It would have been an easy assembly if all of the holes had actually been reamed far enough to hold the cross bolts. As it turns out, we had to sit with a screwdriver and a drill to get the holes to be deep enough. We spent hours on this, and when we finally got to the final step, the last two plastic screw holders that are supposed to hold the top coat rack to the bottom bench were too loose(this was not anything we drilled) and so we have a wobbly top- not safe for the children. Now we are looking into having to glue or return. It would have been beautiful if only it had actually worked. Frustrating!
