My kids can climb up and down themselves. Age 4 and 2. They are sturdy. Unlike bar stools with backs or long narrow dimensions, they do not tip over. Well, they have not tipped over yet. My kids have spilt many things (milk, syrup, etc.) on the wood and it has all come off with warm water and soap. It has a good protective finish on the wood However, you are not supposed to use spray type chemicals on the surface to clean the wood because it could damage the protective finish and then the wood. If you want to clean the table and chairs at the same time with a typical cleaner type spray, maybe reconsider buying these chairs. Or you could chance it and see what happens? I have not. I've been very happy with the purchase and plan to order one more.

We use these with our kitchen island. We love them because of the style. The no-back design looks great! We also like that they go right under the overhang and are hidden from view. There's no hanging anything on them. We have young kids and have to stay close by due to the no-back design.

These bar stools are a great deal!! I ordered 4 and they arrived within 3 days. Easy to put together, very sturdy and they look great too! I would recommend them to anyone.
