      I DISAGREE with the person who rated low because they are too short for the kitchen counter/bar - the company offers the same stool 5" taller. They are perfect for us. They slide away under the counter where they are visable for their asthetics, yet out of the way when not in use. Comfortable for the duration of a meal, a puzzle with the grandkids at the counter, and they clean up quickly.

        We use these stools almost daily with the matching expanding table. I ordered two of these because they match the two that came with the table set so our whole family could enjoy it at the same time.
