            There is a design flaw that lets the water bypass the grounds to prevent overflowing. However if you use fine ground coffee much of the water ends up going through the bypass and dilutes the coffee into looking like light brown water. When I returned it the clerk said that there may be a recall. It MIGHT work OK with coarser ground coffee. I didn't think it made hot enough coffee either.

            Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

              Bought this thinking it would be quick and save coffee. Not so. Uses more coffee per cup than a regular drip pot. Requires cleaning of coffee container and secondary filter after every cup. Leaves very small coffee sludge coffee residue in bottom of cup. More of a hassle that anything else.

              Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

                This brews a strong cup of coffee unlike the pricy pod/kcup machines. It brews quickly, has auto shut-off and comes with 2 scoop/baskets so the next cup can be made easily and quickly. Perfect for families where members are on different work schedules and brewing a pot would be wasteful. LOVE IT!!
