    My house is a two story. The central air doesn't cool the upstairs very well, so I've always had a 5000 BTU portable in the bedroom. 12' by 15'. I needed to replace the unit so I bought this one which is rated at 8000 BTU. I've had it a week and the best it will do is a 3 degree reduction. In other words if it's 90 out side the bedroom will be around 87 with this unit on it's highrst setting. The only thing it does well is remove humidity. I didn'nt need a dehumidifier. I need an air conditioner. So I'll be returning it and buying something else.

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    My house was 83 degrees before turning this unit on. After just 10 minutes, it dropped the temp 3 degrees! After 1 hour, we were in a comfortable 73 degree heaven! You can pre-set the desired temp and there are 3 different fan speeds. Even though it is on the more expensive end of air conditioners, it is well worth it. I disagree with the previous post about this product. Expensive, yes, but worth every penny to be cool and comfortable in this 100+ degree weather!

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    Worst purchase ever

    This AC unit continuously shut off even after draining only got 20 more minutes before it shut off again. We use this in a 26 foot boat and it still did not cool the area. this is a waste of time and money do not purchase this AC unit you will be disappointed fortunately I was able to get my money back I Returned it within four days
